Brown belt craze!

Ok so lately iv had some crazy obsession with walking into every Op shop i come across and going straight to the old belt section to see what kind of brown belts i can find to around my high waist shorts or jeans. Iv decided they make an outfit look so much better! Lets say i put on a pair of jeans and a loose white top with some boots, ok now add a brown belt around the middle and Bam! You have just added another 10% awesome fashion to your day.

Instead of being all about big coats and boots this winter iv gone off into accessory world.
Yes, i have brought jeans and jackets and boots etc but in comparison to how many bangles, necklaces, belts, glasses and bags iv got now, the clothes are nothing. Iv decided that for me, with my style, accessories make everything i wear look ten times better. If you have never tried Op shopping before, get into it! Its honestly awesome. I recommend recyle boutique off queen street.

Tomorrow when the war began

Its finally here!!! "Tomorrow when the war began" is a fantastic book series. Back in high school, about year nine, we had to read the first book for English and i got so hooked i read the rest of them along with quite a few other people. Over the years i re-read them and i NEVER get bored of them. The book is aimed at quite a young teen target market but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them and just when i thought i would have to read the whole series for like the seventh time i find out that the movie has been made and is coming soon!! I cannot wait to see this movie, i realise like most movies made from books it wont hold as much detail and all but it will be interesting to see how they have done it and how different i have imagined it over and over in my mind.

Another plus is i am performing an extract from the book so after watching it i will know exactly how to perform whatever character i choose to portray!

Dancing withdrawals

About a quarter of the way through rehearsals of the most recent show at my dance school, "Nickys school of dance", i decided that it would be my final dance show with them as i had completed all the grades and been there sixteen years. After the show when i left it was okay because i was choreographing another show which was almost about to open but now that thats all done i'm finding myself with dancing withdrawals! Its not cool guys, especially when you have been in such a routine of going to dancing at least three times a week for so many years. 

On the plus side i have another show that i am choreographing next year which will be awesome because im looking to get into that a little more, i find bossing people around into formations and making them work until they cant feel their feet is quite enjoyable! :) But until then i guess i will just have to stick with spin classes at the gym. I guess this is just me having a big moan and a bit pointless really but hey we all have these moments! Just makes me value my time i had at Nicky's even more. 

Grease is the Word!

Me and my friend gabby are itching to go and see this so we are currently in the process of booking tickets for the 25th of this month! Students get that little extra discount from everyone else so we are even going for second best seating, yeah thats right, not in the cheap seats for this fantastic musical :)

It was a hit movie and now its being performed as a successful musical show in amateur and professional theater companies. My old school Strathallan did it a while back and it was fantastic so i cannot wait to see it done professionally! Its at the civic in Auckland which is just off queen street and if your into theater like me and gabs i suggest you get your tickets :) Will let you know how it goes.

Blogging Virgin

So i guess this is my official first post. Why blog you guys might ask? Truth is im hooked at following one of my friends on this same site so i thought instead of always waiting for her to post a new blog why not create my own :) I love reading the interesting things she comes up with to talk about and i thought, seeing as i am doing a degree in communications, i should start one too. I love writing, even better, i love writing about me and whats happening in life or random things im thinking about. Haha selfish i know, or maybe i just have to much time on my hands but hopefully for those of you who read this, will realise i dont have alot of time on my hands as im the kind of girl who HAS to always be busy.

Something i really want to get into and have tried to focus more of my time on these days is hair and make up for ball evenings and weddings. I started playing around with hair for a dancing show a couple of years back and now im hooked. If me and the girls go out its almost guranteed i wanna do their hair and face! So alot of this blog will be about that and interesting discoveries i make about hair and make up. I hope you enjoy reading this, better yet, i hope people actually read this! Haha.
