Live in the now.

When we are five we want to be ten, when we are ten we want to be thirteen so we can call ourselves a teenager, when we are thirteen we want to be sixteen so we can have our license, when we are sixteen we want to be eighteen so we can go to town and buy our own alcohol and when we are eighteen we want to be twenty one so we can call ourselves an adult. But now im a couple of months away from that twenty one mark and wowza its come around fast.

I remember when I was thirteen years old, I had a friend who was sixteen. I knew her through family friends of my parents and I always admired her. She was a dancer, just like me, and she seemed so cool purely because she was older. She would tell me about her boyfriends and have a glass of wine with our parents at dinner. I wanted so bad to be that age so I could do those things. What I didn't realise was I had a ten year old watching what I was doing, going out to the mall with friends, starting high school and she was looking up to me in the same way that I looked up to the sixteen year old. I guess my point is as girls we spend a large chunk of our childhood wishing we were older so we were able to do the things that others can.

Well here's a piece of advice for all the youngens out there: Drinking is only great until the next morning, Its actually way better getting parents to drive you everywhere so you dont have to pay for gas, boys are still just as confusing at twenty one as they are at sixteen, being able to wear what you want without your parents saying "Go and cover up your legs (or in my case tits)" isn't that great cause as you get older you just complain more about what you cant wear cause of ya body type, Uni and full time work is hard stuff, high school is bloody awesome. And for all the older ones reading this I know im "still young", just saying iv realised wanting to be older when I was younger is kinda ironic because now id love for just one more day in kindergarten.

I had the coolest times when I was young and every year that I was a teenager something great happened, whether it was my first kiss, my first heart break, the first time I drove by myself or experiencing great anxiety when handing over a fake I.D. Take in being a teenager and dont try and be older than ya are cause in a blink of an eye you'll be in university or working full time and instead of worrying about what your gunna wear to mufti day at school you'll be worrying about when study link is gunna pay ya!

Procrastination.

So im sitting here finding these words to put down so easily yet I cant simply finish off my essay that is due on Thursday. Im not sure if its because iv run out of intelligent things to say or because writing a blog that my friends read is more appealing. Im gunna go with the second option. So here is yet another list and today's list is going to be 10 ways I procrastinate. Some are the obvious choices and some are not. Some even have a positive to the negative.

1. Clean my room (Positive but will no doubt be messy again in 24 hours)
2. Cook food - I use food to say I need energy and fuel for essay writing.
3. Exercise (positive because im getting something good out of it)
4. FACEBOOK - this is the worst form of procrastination from anyone. Dont have yourself logged in because all you'll do is pop up the window after every sentence.
5. Blog time - although this is good for you guys cause you get your daily dose of my bullshit it is not good for me.
6. Play with my cat - its so easy to stray when she starts walking all over my laptop keyboard.
7. Check my horoscope - Am I going to have a good week or not, its always a little scary when you get something like "You have a task at hand but have no interest in following through with it"
8. Go through clothes and chuck some out - giving to charity is way more important than getting a degree.
9. Organise uni books/folders - this is a goodie because you dont feel as guilty when your still doing something involving uni.
10. Completely give up on procrastinating and just going out to lunch with a friend - this will happen because while you were procrastinating you went through all your contacts and asked them what they were doing. Desperate times, desperate measures.

Its so easy to say no to all of these things but ESSAYS ARE BORING! I mean come on who wants to sit inside on a nice day and write an essay. So instead im sitting inside on a nice day writing a blog but hey at least there is no pass or fail on this. Baby Jesus, if you love me, please let me have this as a career in the next few years.

Good luck fellow procrastinators.

(412 words - I need 400 to finish my essay. Why cant it be this easy!)

Love.

The good old heart break poem haha. Felt like writing something soppy. Hope some of you can relate. Have a good weekend my lovely readers.

Occasionally you pop into my mind,
and when you do it lingers for some time.
I didn't know a feeling like this was possible,
Love can lead us to be so irresponsible.

I don't know if you still think about me,
I like to think I left a mark that only you can see.
I find myself at a loss for words,
The image of us is becoming quite blurred.

I guess when your young you give it your all,
You take a silly risk and enjoy the big fall.
You dont think of the future and what lies ahead,
You live in the moment and give your hand to be led.

I hope that occasionally I pop into your mind,
And the love you had is not completely left behind.
Just a message to say im thinking of you,
Really, who wouldn't after all that we've been through.

Kiwi proud.

After looking through someone's photos on good old facey tonight iv got the travelling bug. No not to go and see the world. I will eventually get around to that when iv graduated and everything. The NZ travelling bug. NZ is fucking gorgeous and we take it for granted. Ive seen it all before as my parents were nice enough to show me around when I was a bit younger but shits changed. I can drive, I can walk into a pub without parental guidance and I can do it with my friends.

I wanna go bungee jumping, and drinking in cute vintage pubs that only locals sprinkle through throughout the day. I wanna drive for five hours on end and take stupid pointless photos of the road trip. I wanna buy a flash camera and capture how gorgeous this place really is. Of course iv realised this as summer is coming to a close but hey i can dream. Im making it a goal to go and see NZ a second time round and do a few things i didn't get to do when i was younger. I love road tripping already so why not. Bush walks, jet boating and waterfalls sound a little like me :) Time to save up and do it sometime soon i hope. God our country is gorgeous.

Bit of a bucket list of what i wanna do on this trip that will eventually happen:

1. Bungy Jump
2. Stop at a pub in every big town.
3. Sleep under the stars.
4. Skinny dip in a waterfall
5. Do a bush or mountain walk longer than 2 hours.
6. Watch the sunset... from bluff.
7. Watch the sun rise... from cape reinga
9. Go back to stewart island
10. Have no plan... just drive.

Just a few of the things i wanna do. Night kiwis.
